Are you an HR professional ready to step into a management role where your leadership, systems thinking, and interpersonal strengths can shine? Wallace is seeking an HR Manager to manage the daily HR operations and serve as the primary resource for staff and leaders. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who’s ready to take full ownership of HR processes, strengthen systems, and support a mission‑driven team.

 

Key Details:

  • Compensation: $80,000-$90,000 per year, DOE
  • Schedule: Full time, Monday-Friday, with four days onsite and one remote day after onboarding
  • Location: 18633 SE Stark St., Portland, OR 97233
  • Benefits: Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance (Wallace covers employee premiums 100%); PTO (three weeks in the first year, four weeks starting in year two); Employer paid Short and Long‑Term Disability; Life & AD&D; FSA/DCFSA; 401(k) with match; Employee Assistance Program.

What You’ll Do:

HR Leadership & Compliance

  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for employees and managers.
  • Manage day to day HR operations, documentation, and compliance with an emphasis on building and maintaining efficient systems.
  • Interpret and apply employment laws, policies, and HR best practices, offering clear guidance grounded in both organizational needs and legal requirements.
  • Partner with leadership and external HR support on complex or sensitive matters.

Employee Relations & Culture

  • Build trusting, transparent relationships with staff across the organization, maintaining a steady, calm presence in challenging conversations.
  • Provide direct support, coaching, and clarity to leaders and employees, addressing needs while upholding policies and boundaries.
  • Lead employee relations work including performance conversations, conflict resolution, and navigating interpersonal dynamics in a community health environment.
  • Help cultivate a positive, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture with a proactive interpersonal approach.

Core HR Operations

  • Manage benefits administration and open enrollment, acting as the primary contact with brokers and internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee leave administration, ADA accommodations, and offboarding with clarity, consistency, and care.
  • Maintain personnel files, records, and HR communication workflows with strong attention to structure, organization, and system efficiency.
  • Coordinate with payroll and admin support on timecards, credentialing, and compliance requirements.
  • Lead recruitment and hiring processes, including sourcing mission aligned candidates and coordinating a smooth interview experience.
  • Deliver an effective onboarding experience and oversee performance management cycles, including reviews and Personnel Change Notices.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, or related field or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years of progressive HR experience, demonstrating increased responsibility and readiness to step into management.
  • Strong systems, organization, and process‑development skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship‑building abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently and bring clarity, structure, and follow‑through.
  • Solid understanding of HR compliance and employment laws.
  • Experience in healthcare or ADP is helpful but not required.
  • PHR or SHRM‑CP is a plus.
